Barbara Wadsworth is the Senior Vice President of Patient Services and the Chief Nursing Officer at Main Line Health. She holds a Doctor in Nursing Practice, Health Systems Leadership from Vanderbilt University. Barbara is certified as a Nurse Executive, Advanced, a Fellow in the American Academy of Nursing, and a fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives. Barbara has more than 28 years of experience in nursing and has held a variety of staff and management positions. Barbara is a 2009 Robert Wood Johnson Executive Nurse Fellow. She is a member of the American Nurses Association, PA State Nurses Association, Sigma Theta Tau, and American Organization of Nurse Executives and presently serves on the board of the Southeastern Pennsylvania Organization of Nurse Leaders. She is presently the chair of the membership committee for PONL. Barbara also serves on the Immaculata University MSN Advisory Board, the Gift of Life Program’s Medical Advisory & Policy Board, PHL Convention & Visitors Center Board Nursing Leadership Committee & the Nightingale Association of Pennsylvania. As the MLH System CNO, Barbara has responsibility for all patient care services including, all inpatient care areas, the Emergency departments, respiratory, and pharmacy. Wadsworth’s responsibilities include system oversight and implementation of Observation, Palliative Care Services, Safe Patient Handling, patient satisfaction, and nursing strategic planning. She also oversees Clinical Informatics, Patient Support Services including the staffing office and resource team. Barbara has responsibility for implementation of the Future of Nursing Action Plan, culture of safety embedding, and superior patient experience.
