August 24, 2019, 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM @ Upper Schuylkill Valley Park
Come and help us celebrate this amazing little insect - the butterfly! This annual program will include information on tagging, feeding, and raising butterflies. This year the park will be hosting Sandra Sweeney, Master Gardener, from the Montgomery County Penn State Extension. Sandra will be sharing her knowledge about planting your butterfly garden with native plants and common cooking herbs. There will be hands-on activities for the kids and much more. If the weather allows, we will be releasing the tagged monarchs at the end of the program so they can begin their migration south. In the event of inclement weather, activities will be reduced.
August 24, 2019, 1:00 PM @ Meet at Fly-fishing area (1023 Church Road, East Greenville, PA 18041).
The park’s meadows are alive with blooming wildflowers and a host of insect visitors. This program allows participants a chance to hone their macro-photography skills on living subjects. Photographers of all skill levels welcome! Our target species will be bees and butterflies, but you may be surprised at all the amazing creatures that rely on native plants. Meet at Fly-fishing area (1023 Church Road, East Greenville, PA 18041). Ages 9 to adult; free.
