[ARCHIVED] Pennsylvania Inheritance and Realty Transfer Tax Announces New Common Level Ratio

Norristown, June 29, 2017; The Pennsylvania Inheritance and Realty Transfer Tax, Bureau of Individual Taxes, has released the 2016 Common Level Ratio Real Estate Valuation Factors for documents accepted from July 1, 2017 to June 30, 2018.

Starting July 1, 2017, the Common Level Ratio Factor for Montgomery County is 1.85. Please note this is a new valuation factor.

The Montgomery County Recorder of Deeds is responsible for the collection and distribution of real estate transfer taxes. All realty transfer tax forms (REV-183) with document date beginning July 1, 2017 forward must reflect this new valuation.

The Pennsylvania Department of Revenue may change the ratio again before July 1, 2017. We will make every attempt to keep our website up to date.
