Harleysville, PA (May 1, 2017) – The Montgomery County Commissioners, in conjunction with Shred One Security Corp., will be sponsoring a free community paper shredding event on Saturday, May 6, 2017 from 9 a.m. to noon, rain or shine, at Indian Valley Middle School, 130 Maple Ave., Harleysville, PA 19438. This is the first of three Community Paper Shredding events for 2017.
Montgomery County residents who have paper and documents that should be shredded are encouraged to take advantage of this free event. Please make sure that there are no plastic, plastic bags, batteries, cardboard, or metal other than staples and paper clips in the waste. Bring documents in boxes or paper bags for ease of shredding on site; two boxes or paper bags per vehicle limit in consideration of other attendees. Volunteers will assist with removing documents from vehicles. This event is open to residents of Montgomery County as a community service. Please, no businesses. Please note, capacity is limited and the event must close when the trucks are full.
“Montgomery County is proud to offer document shredding events as a service to our residents. It helps them protect their identities from theft while also protecting the environment, as all shredded paper is recycled by Shred One,” said Val Arkoosh, chair of the Montgomery County Commissioners. “We hope Montgomery County residents take advantage of this free event, and we are very grateful to Shred One for their assistance.”
Shred One regularly participates in community shredding events. Mobile shredding trucks perform all of the paper shredding on site. Shred One is currently recycling paper at a rate which saves more than 70,000 trees annually.
