The County of Montgomery’s IT department was honored at a Microsoft Technologies Summit for its recent accomplishments. The County was recognized for its forward thinking in areas such as Server Virtualization, Support Desk Efficiencies and Data Center Design. The County was also applauded for its Cloud Based services including email and SaaS based systems and for its Virtual Desktop Infrastructure pilot. These accomplishments have been recognized by Microsoft and some of our neighboring Counties.

About the Department
The Information and Technology Solutions (ITS) Department champions prudent technological investments and provides support for computer, network, and telecommunications throughout the county.
The Information Technology Solutions Department is committed to providing the various county departments and other agencies with the highest level of support, utilizing proven industry standards and technologies. ITS prides itself as being a customer-service oriented department that works with our customers to simplify and demystify technology.
We do this by actively participating in projects and by keeping open lines of communication with other county departments. Our goal is simple, listen to our customers and assist in evaluation, implementation, and ongoing support of their projects. ITS also prides itself on rising to the various challenges brought to us; we enjoy working with each and every department at MONTCO.
We also know when to ask for help and where to go to get it. We believe this approach to be the right approach since even the IT professionals sometimes need help too. This has had a positive effect on the departments we service, and the IT staff as well.
