Schuylkill River Passenger Rail

The restoration of passenger rail between Reading and Philadelphia, passing through Pottstown, Norristown, and other potential stops, is a goal in Montgomery County’s comprehensive plan (Montco 2040: A Shared Vision). Montgomery, Berks, and Chester Counties formed the Schuylkill River Passenger Rail Authority (SRPRA) in 2022 to pursue funding opportunities and partnerships with rail operators, state, and federal transportation agencies.
