Creek Critters

Join us as we investigate aquatic life in the waters of the Perkiomen Creek. Using nets, pans and magnifiers, we’ll examine the highly adapted insects, crayfish, and more. Wear shorts and old sneakers (no open-toed shoes, please!) as we will be getting wet. All animals will be released unharmed. Pre-registration required. Program meets at fly-fishing area (1023 Church Rd, East Greenville). All ages; free.

Free Fishing Clinic & Derby

Join us for the 1st Annual Fishing Clinic & Derby with local professional bass tournament angler Grae Buck. Grae and his fellow instructors will provide FREE fishing instructions to children followed by a fishing Derby with prizes.  Meet at Deep Creek Lake Boat Dock (3036 Deep Creek Rd., Green Lane, PA 18054).  Children 16 years of age and younger; free.

Summer Concert Series: Agent Moosehead

Join us for an evening of music in the park.  Formed in 2004 by brothers Chris & Pete Dippolito with drummer John McNally, Agent Moosehead has over the years hosted a fluid lineup consisting of Philadelphia’s most inventive musicians.  At their smallest, the group consists of guitar, bass, and drums.  At their largest, they can have more than eight pieces or more onstage.

Agent Moosehead’s music at times fuses Indie Jazz atmospheres with angular Prog rhythms and vintage video game soundtracks. Their recordings include their debut release of 2007’s “Neil, Throw the Switch!” and 2018’s “My Dracula Sleeps with His Mind Open.”  Please bring a lawn chair of blanket to sit on.  All ages; free.

Incredible Insects

Come to the park for a closer look at field insects and their amazing adaptations. We will use nets and bug boxes to learn about these amazing 6-legged creatures and their tricks for survival. Since 2012, Pure Jerry has had one goal: bringing life and spirit to the music of Jerry Garcia. Fronted by veteran jam guitarist Michael Morrow, they are a powerful array of talent that performs a wide range of music from Keystone–era material to early nineties’ JGB shows. With a combined lifetime of Grateful Dead experience and pedigree, Pure Jerry lets the music do the talking. Bring a lawn chair or blanket to sit on. All ages; free.

Part 2 Archaeology for Kids Digging Deeper

 Like getting your hands in the dirt? Join us for Part 2 – Archaeology for Kids. Excavation is one of the most important methods archaeologists learn. Learn the methods of excavating, documenting, and analyzing your finds. After the digging activity, all will be able to paint and take home their own terracotta pot. Meet in the Stone Lodge, 2115 Deep Creek Road. Preregistration required. Ages: 7 to 12 with an adult; free.

Summer Concert Series: ROUGAROU

Join us for an evening of music in the park! Formed in January 2013, ROUGAROU (pronounced ‘roo-guh-roo’) is a cover band based in Limerick Township, PA that plays a wide variety of tunes from the Classic Rock and Soul genres. ROUGAROU features stinging lead guitar, a bad to the bone rhythm section, and tops it off with Hammond organ and soulful vocals. Bring a lawn chair or blanket to sit on.  All ages; free.

Butterflies through Binoculars

Join us as we learn to identify and better understand butterflies. The park is home to an impressive array of these beautiful and beneficial creatures. Bring binoculars and we will share tips and tricks for identifying these winged beauties. Pre-registration required. Join us for an evening of music in the park.  Get ready for a fun and interactive family concert with Steve Pullara & His Cool Beans Band.  Steve is a children’s concert performer with over 20 years of live entertainment experience and numerous commercially released award winning recordings.  He is a Grammy recipient in Children’s Music who’s also garnered Parents’ Choice Awards, NAPPA Awards, and other industry recognitions.  Please bring a lawn chair or blanket to sit on.  All ages; free.

Tree ID Made Easy

Don’t know a beech from a birch? No problem, we can help! Join us for a look at our native trees and shrubs. Along the way, we will share tips and tricks to identify woody plants using leaves, bark, and fruit as clues. We will also learn some “fun facts” about each of the plants. Pre-registration required. Program will meet outside park office. (2144 Snyder Rd, Green Lane). Ages: 9 to adult, free.

10th Annual Upper Perkiomen Bird & Wildlife Festival

Bring the entire family out for a day of fun and learning at Green Lane Park.  This event features environmental exhibits, free hayrides, live animal presentations, live music, food and merchandising vendors, games, and much more.  Visit our Eco-Raffle to win cool merchandise donated by local vendors.  The event will be held in the amphitheater area of Green LAne PArk (2298 Green Lane Rd, Green Lane, PA 18054).  Come celebrate the rich wildlife heritage of our region at this important community event.  All ages; free.

Haunted Hayride

Flight of the Falcon – Live Birds of Prey

Cheryl Heimbach of Baywing Falconry returns with her amazing birds of prey program. Join her as she unravels the life history and ecology of hawks, falcons, and owls. Learn about the special adaptations of these highly adapted aerial hunters. At least one of the birds will be flying. Meet near the park amphitheater. Holiday Craft Workshops

Join us for one workshop or both if you like. At 10:00 am, we will be focusing on “Holiday Centerpieces”. We will use cones, nuts, and pods from nature to make this craft to adorn your table. At 1:00 pm our workshop will be a “Holiday Wall Hanging” all made from natural materials. NOTE: We have other craft projects available and skilled instructors happy to help you get creative. No previous crafting experience needed! Bring a hot glue gun or borrow one of ours. Spaces are limited, pre-registration required. Programs will meet at the Stone Lodge (2115 Snyder Road, Green Lane, PA 18054). Ages: 12 & up; materials fee: $10 per person, per workshop.

Waterfowl Watch

Join us for a look at waterfowl migration in one of Pennsylvania’s premier birding locations. Ducks, geese, swans, and other birds are winging their way south at this time, and Green Lane Park is a favorite stop-over along the way. Bring binoculars and meet at the tennis court parking lot (2298 Green Lane Road, Green Lane, PA 18054). Ages: 12 & up; free.

More Holiday Crafts

Our holiday craft programs conclude for the season as we create “Kissing Balls” from local nuts, pods, and cones. While this will be our primary focus, participants can choose from other craft projects including centerpieces, pine cone wreaths, and several other choices. No previous experience needed, let our crafty volunteers walk you through any of the projects! Bring a hot glue gun or borrow one of ours. Spaces are limited, pre-registration required. Program will meet at the Stone Lodge (2115 Snyder Road, Green Lane, PA 18054). Ages: 12 & up; materials fee: $10 per person.
