All Montgomery County departments strictly adhere to any federal, state, and local regulations that govern privacy and confidentiality of all types of residents’ information. New federal regulations regarding the privacy and security of protected health information have been issued. Montgomery County is in compliance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act and is designated as a hybrid entity for the purposes of this Act. This means that certain, but not all, Montgomery County departments provide clients right to information and provide specific privacy and security measures.
