GREEN LANE

 Green Lane Borough was incorporated on December 10, 1875, and took its land solely from Marlborough Township. In 1924, another piece of Marlborough Township was deeded to this small borough by one of its outstanding philanthropic residents, Mr. Issac R. Smith. This brought Green Lane's total acreage to 206. Today, Green Lane retains its family and community orientation and is nestled in some of the most beautiful open areas of Montgomery County. It should be noted that some residents or businesses may have a Green Lane mailing address, but are actually located in Marlborough Township.
PUBLIC SERVICES:The entire borough is serviced by public sewers. Private wells provide water to residents. Police protection is provided by Marlborough Township. Fire protection is provided by volunteer companies. Residential trash disposal is arranged by private contractors.
RECREATION:The Issac Smith Park is a large park named after the man who donated the land to the borough. For more information on this park, please contact the borough. In addition, the nearby Montgomery County Green Lane Reservoir Park and the Montgomery County Upper Perkiomen Valley Park provide wonderful facilities for all to enjoy. PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION:No SEPTA bus or rail lines serve the borough.
SHOPPING:A few small shops and businesses are located in the borough. Residents tend to use shopping facilities in Pennsburg and surrounding communities. The nearest major shopping area is Quakertown in Bucks County.
