Montco 2040: A Shared Vision, which was adopted by the Montgomery County Commissioners on January 15, 2015, was designed as a living document. It is usable, implementable, and measurable. The next step for this important comprehensive plan is implementation. The county has prepared a 2016 implementation update that incorporates proposed actions by county departments and partners. Through this process, Montco 2040: A Shared Vision will remain a vital guiding document for the future of the county and its built environment. For additional information, contact Scott France at 610-278-3747 or Anne Leavitt-Gruberger at 610-278-3727.

On March 3, 2016, the Montgomery County Commissioners announced an exciting new grant program for municipalities as part of the implementation of the county’s comprehensive plan, Montco 2040: A Shared Vision. The Montco 2040 Implementation Grant Program is intended to assist municipalities in making targeted physical improvements that achieve real progress toward the goals of the plan. A total of $1 million is allocated for 2016, with annual allocations expected over the next five years. Grant amounts are expected to be available between $10,000 and $200,000, but a realistic average award is around $100,000. The online application period begins on April 1.
